What is Counselling and Psychotherapy?

People have problems in their lives for many reasons: events in their past, situations in their present, negative ways of thinking, meaning in their lives changing.  These can lead to unhelpful patterns occurring in life or relationship issues which they are unhappy with and these are just a few of the reason why people seek the help of a therapist. Counselling and Psychotherapy can help with:

• Relationship issues

• Child abuse/childhood trauma

• Loss and bereavement

• Drug and alcohol Issues

• Sexuality and Gender

• Domestic violence

• Cultural Issues

• Health problems (such as cancer and HIV)

Counselling and Psychotherapy are talking therapies. You meet with your therapist at the same time, on the same day each week. This offers you a confidential space in which to talk with your therapist and your therapist listens. Through a means of exploration this will offer you insight, clarity and an understanding of the issues that you are carrying with you each day.
